Project Stay was founded on the profound impact of David Jay Benfield, Jr.'s life. On January 1, 2025, we lost Jay to suicide. Jay was the kind of person who left a lasting impact everywhere he went. His smile, personality, and heart for others continue to be remembered and celebrated daily by those who knew and loved him. Through that love, Project Stay was born - not only to honor Jay's life, but to help create conversations, support, and reminders that no one has to face their struggles alone.
